Today, with the participation of the Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Galushchenko, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Slovak Republic to Ukraine Marek Šafin, and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to Ukraine Radek Matula, two production sharing agreements were officially signed with international investor - the company EP Ukraine B.V., which is a part of the Central European Energy Holding EPH. It includes more than 70 companies in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany, and other countries. The day before, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the terms of the PSA.
According to the signed agreements, EP Ukraine B.V. will develop Okhtyrska and Grunivska blocks. According to the tender conditions, the minimum amount of investment in the development of two blocks for the first five years will amount to about UAH 1 billion. During this time, 9 exploration wells will be drilled and 3D seismic will be carried out on an area of 500 sq. Km.
"Ukrainian gas production is interesting for foreign investors, as evidenced by their participation in PSA tenders. We welcome the involvement of an international company in the development of Ukrainian subsoil and wish you the successful development of oil and gas fields. I am convinced that the successful implementation of the PSAs - both those signed at the end of last year and those signed today - will be a new page in the development of industry and a guarantee of growing Ukrainian gas production. I am convinced that the joint efforts of the government and business will strengthen the energy security of our country," said Artem Petrenko, the Executive Director of the Association.
The Association expresses its gratitude to all members of the Interdepartmental Commission for the successful work and signing of such important PSAs!
